ICYMI TRACK REVIEW // Caro - see u in hell
Words by Chloe Lewis
see u in hell is a gorgeous little bop from songwriter/producer Caro that sounds like it was plucked straight from an American indie teen movie. The second single from this Atlantan sensation brings together infectious lo-fi beats, catchy melodies and smooth velvety vocals to create a summer tune perfect for whether you’re feeling sad and contemplative or ready to party!
There’s a realism to see u in hell that’s entirely relatable to young women everywhere- the idea that being with someone who doesn’t want to date you is worth it for the way you feel with them at the time, no matter how terrible you’re going to feel the next day. This, combined with Caro’s lo-fi bedroom pop vibes, is all part of see you in hell’s appeal- it’s human and real, and proves that a pop song does not always have to have high levels of production to be incredible.
see u in hell, and previous single 3am, are only the beginning of Caro’s path to world pop domination, with a seven-song mixtape set to be released in the autumn. If her first two singles are anything to go by, Caro’s next musical offerings are going to go from strength to strength, so she’s definitely someone to watch out for! Have a listen to see u in hell if you like your pop songs to break your heart and make you dance all at the same time.
